2027 joint artist call

Bergen Fringe Festival returns in 2027, continuing the biennial format established in 2021. It is rooted in Bergen’s independent performing arts community and organised by the cultural organisations at Cornerteateret, its main venue.

The 2027 theme is COMMUNITY. The festival welcomes innovative, interdisciplinary and site-specific work, audience involvement, and performances that connect people and places. Additional spaces and outdoor locations are planned around Møhlenpris.

Work that brings people together

The theme COMMUNITY invites artistic encounters involving audiences, places and the relationships between them. Innovative, interdisciplinary and site-specific proposals are welcome.

Programme and places

Around four to six performance spaces and 25–35 event slots are envisaged, including workshops and other activities. Five to eight international acts are planned, depending on funding and collaboration opportunities.

Artist arrangements

Performance space is offered. Technical support, financial arrangements and any artist fees are agreed individually and depend on funding. The application fee is €30.

Selection and the joint call

The BNFN call complements Bergen’s initial 2026 call with international projects and touring links. The festival aims to issue offers within a few weeks of the joint call closing; the indicative selection calendar lists January 2027.

Programme sizes, venue plans and selection dates are indicative and subject to each festival’s final arrangements.
